For the Skyy Update of June we surpassed $18K which was actually pretty cool after that big drop from the UK leaving the EU. The downturn only lasted for about two days which was a let down for anyone trying to catch some companies on sale for a prolonged period of time. Like I mentioned last month Skyy and I sold Electro Rent(ELRC) for a $200 profit since it looks like they will be acquired by an equity firm.

This allowed me to make some great purchases in the month of June and I bought more Chimera to make up the lost dividend income of Electro Rent for the month of July. I honestly can’t believe we reached $18K in the month of June, I really was not expecting that but lets see if we can keep this ball rolling!

Work Hard or Work Smart?

  1. Always work smart (while working hard).
I use a combination of dividend stocks and regular stocks combined with utilizing options. The caveat with options is that you usually have to have at least 100 shares of the stock in order to do that.
I consider them dividends but the fast forward kind. I’ve lucked out to buy/sell covered calls to achieve $2,200 in just 3 short weeks on GOOGL recently (after all fees).
Along with that method, I’ve been using the buy low and sell high, which has been working out very well. That’s the only way I purchase stocks anymore whether it is for dividends such at LMT, CBRL, T, etc., or to use in option trades.
Good luck on your dividend growth efforts! 🙂

    1. Hey that’s a pretty good idea and I have looked into options but don’t feel comfortable just yet jumping all the way in. I will say though that the Buy & Hold formula has been working well for me so far.

  2. Just wondering if you’ve ever looked at dividend stocks such as DNP, FAX, or FTR. all are 7$-8%+ with virtually constant payments for a couple decades.

    1. Hey Rich,
I checked out the stocks that you mentioned and I decided to go with FAX. Thanks for the Advice! Hopefully the Down Under treats me well.
